Garden Center Sales Associate

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Garden Associate to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service while assisting customers with their gardening needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for plants and gardening products, along with the ability to communicate effectively with customers. A knowledge of beer and wine is a plus but not required. This position requires a proactive approach to stocking products and maintaining the garden center's organization. Responsibilities Assist customers in selecting plants, gardening supplies, and landscape maintenance products. Provide expert advice on lawn care, plant care, and garden design. Maintain the appearance of the garden center by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring cleanliness. Operate cash registers and handle transactions accurately. Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions. Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction. Stay informed about new products, gardening techniques, and seasonal trends. Qualifications Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse clientele. Experience in landscape maintenance or lawn care is preferred. Familiarity with retail math to assist in inventory management and sales tracking. Ability to operate a cash register and handle cash transactions efficiently. Multilingual abilities are a plus, particularly in English and other languages. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. A genuine interest in gardening, plants, and outdoor living.
