This position offers the opportunity to cover a wide range of stories — from breaking news and local government to education, community events and feature writing — in a community that values strong local journalism. This is true local reporting where your work makes a visible impact. We're looking for someone who is curious, engaged and eager to tell the stories that matter to our readers.

Responsibilities include:

Reporting and writing news and feature stories for print and digital platforms Covering meetings, events and breaking news Shooting photos and video to accompany stories Posting content online and on social media to grow audience engagement Developing sources and generating story ideas The ideal candidate will: Be an enthusiastic, self-starting reporter with strong news judgment Write clearly and accurately using AP style Be comfortable with photography, videography and digital publishing tools Engage with the community and build lasting relationships with sources Be able to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends A degree in journalism or a related field is preferred, but internships and relevant experience will be considered. This position is open to early-career journalists and recent graduates looking to grow in a supportive newsroom environment A valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance are required
