General Labor

Summary:

Packaging Laborers assist with the operation of packaging lines. Packaging lines may include box lines, bag lines, super sac lines, container transload, or other similar lines.

Bag Line:

General Duties and Responsibilities Pull the correct packaging supplies and prepare based on pack out information Assist with clean down of packaging equipment Connect transfer hoses to Railcar Tie hoses to car Install filters Put catch pans and jack stands in place Verify package markings and labels with customers' original instructions Operate stretchwrap machine and/or hooder and report any issues to crew leader Place one label on front and back of each pallet as they exit the stretch wrapper Keep work area clean and free of debris throughout shift Gather any open, damaged or rejected bags, place on pallet and move to reclaim tray so they can be re-bagged Assist Crew Leader and Forklift driver as instructed

Box Line:

General Duties and Responsibilities Pull the correct packaging supplies and prepare based on pack out information Make up boxes and place flat sheet of cardboard in bottom Place box liners on side of each box Ensure correct amount of boxes are erected prior to packaging Place pallets in straight line in front of conveyor Place boxes on the pallet and staple each flap three times When full row is completed, push pallets with boxes attached up on conveyor with fork lift Keep the lead-in conveyor full of boxes during packaging run Keep work area clean and free of debris throughout shift Tie the liners once box is filled Add lids to the filled boxes on the packaging line Assist Crew Leader and Forklift driver as instructed

Requirements:

Be willing to learn and perform all duties on all packaging lines Be able to speak, read, and write basic English Be able to lift 50 pounds Be able to operate large machinery Be able to work in a team Safety-oriented Work required schedule
