Job Overview The General Labor Helper provides hands-on field support to Underground Petroleum Testing Technicians during testing, maintenance, and compliance activities at underground storage tank (UST) sites. This role assists with equipment setup, site preparation, basic maintenance tasks, documentation support, and general labor activities to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant field operations. The Helper plays a key support role in maintaining jobsite safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Duties Assist Underground Petroleum Testing Technicians with daily field operations at fuel stations, industrial facilities, and petroleum storage sites. Prepare worksites by setting up tools, testing equipment, cones, barricades, and safety signage. Provide manual assistance during tank, piping, sump, and dispenser access, including removal and replacement of covers and panels. Support technicians during testing activities by handling hoses, probes, cords, gauges, and related equipment. Transport, load, and unload testing equipment, tools, and materials from company vehicles to job sites. Assist with basic equipment cleaning, inspection, and organization to ensure readiness for use. Identify damaged or missing tools or equipment and report issues to the lead technician or supervisor. Follow all safety protocols, PPE requirements, and environmental protection procedures at each site. Assist in maintaining clean, safe, and orderly job sites during and after work is completed. Support spill prevention practices and immediately report any safety or environmental concerns. Requirements Ability to work in small spaces, such as sumps and holes and under buildings. Must be able to stand, walk, stoop, squat, bend, crawl, twist, climb, stretch, and use range of mobility frequently Must be able to lift a minimum of 80 lbs. with assistance regularly Customer service oriented with excellent communication skills - both verbal and written Strong initiative and work ethic Punctual, reliable, and regular attendance Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills and strong attention to detail Must be able to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and overnights as needed for emergencies and contract-related roles. This will include frequent travel out of town for week-long jobs. Attain and maintain all required tech and maintenance certifications as needed Travel with technicians to local and out-of-town job sites, including weeklong and overnight assignments as required. Support flexible scheduling, including nights, weekends, and emergency response calls. Valid driver's license and Department of Motor Vehicles Report with a clean driving record Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and meet the required criteria for driving a company vehicle Must be able to lift and carry up to 25lbs. Must be able to stand, sit, stoop, bend, twist, and reach frequently.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
