General Laborer 1st Shift Job Description The General Laborer is responsible for managing the melter/filler side of the production process, which involves handling blocks of butter and placing them into large tubs for melting. Additionally, the role involves packaging, labeling, and maintaining sanitation standards on the sweet and condensed side, assisting machines in filling boxes, pails, and totes with the final product. This position emphasizes the physical aspects of production work. Responsibilities Handle and melt blocks of butter weighing approximately 40 lbs for production. Assist in packaging and labeling of sweet and condensed products. Maintain sanitation standards throughout the production process. Operate machinery to fill boxes, pails, and totes with the final product. Essential Skills 6 months food production experience. Ability to lift up to 55 lbs throughout the day. Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing English. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in general labor and packing. Knowledge of food handling and sanitation practices. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work environment is climate-controlled, slightly cool, but not a freezer setting. Employees are required to follow food manufacturing protocols, including wearing provided jackets, hair nets, and beard nets if necessary. Jewelry is not allowed. Comprehensive training on GMPs will be provided. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Winthrop, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
