General Laborer - 1st Shift L & N Metal Works | Gillett, WI At L & N Metal Works , we're more than a fabrication shop—we're a proud, family-owned team shaping steel into precision parts, structural projects, and custom designs for manufacturers and beyond. We operate out of a 20,000-square-foot facility equipped with modern technology, including tube and fiber lasers, press brakes, tube bending equipment, laser welding, and robotic welding. Even with advanced equipment, we keep a small-shop mindset where everyone's contribution truly matters. We fabricate custom production parts along with railings, stair framing, structural steel, catwalks, ladders, decorative steel, and other unique metal projects. We're proud of the work we do—and the people who do it. We're currently looking to add one General Laborer to our 1st shift team.

Schedule Monday-Thursday:

5:00 AM - 3:30

PM Fridays:

Overtime available when needed Enjoy three-day weekends when overtime isn't required What You'll Do Deburr parts Grind, sand, and drill holes Clean and prep parts Prepare items for shipping Handle materials to support production flow Perform basic part inspections to ensure quality standards are met Assist welders, fabricators, and machine operators as needed What We're Looking For Ability to read a tape measure and protractor Experience operating basic power tools Good math and analytical skills Safety-minded with strong attention to detail Reliable work history and attendance Ability to lift up to 75 lbs Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing needs Good decision-making and problem-solving skills Forklift and overhead hoist experience preferred (willing to train the right candidate) Experience with or willingness to learn blueprint reading and interpretation Why You'll Like Working Here Family-owned shop — you're not just a number Small team with modern equipment First-shift schedule with 3-day weekends when overtime isn't required Competitive pay and good benefits
