General Laborer, Press Operator Department:
Production Team Reports to: Production Supervisor
POSITION SUMMARY
The General Laborer - Press Operator is a hands-on member of the IWI-Lonestar Production Team, responsible for operating punch presses, supporting manufacturing processes, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role involves physical tasks, equipment operation, basic welding, and material handling, while also contributing to efficiency and continuous improvement efforts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
(the incumbent may be asked to perform any combination of the following functions, which are subject to change as deemed by the employer at any time to adapt to company needs): Operate punching presses to manufacture components, including loading and unloading materials. Set up and feed rubber rolls into the press machine to punch rubber pads according to production requirements. Inspect finished rubber pads for quality, accuracy, and consistency. Conduct basic maintenance on press equipment and ensure the machine is kept clean and in proper working condition. Perform general assembly line duties and assist with housekeeping tasks. Operate a forklift to load/unload trucks and move goods within the facility. Safely place and retrieve materials from warehouse racking systems using a forklift. Complete minor production reporting and documentation with guidance from the supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area at all times. Adhere to safety standards and follow company protocols and production schedules. Support the team with other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Prior experience operating machinery or working as a press or machine operator is preferred. Forklift certification or ability to become certified; experience operating forklifts safely in a production setting. Comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting items up to 50 lbs. Experience or familiarity with basic MIG Welding would be considered an asset. Strong attention to detail, work ethic, and ability to follow procedures independently. Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written). Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Manufacturing plant environment with moderate to high noise levels. Regular physical activity including lifting, standing, and repetitive motions. Personal protective equipment (PPE) required as per company policies. Exposure to industrial machinery, tools, and materials.
