General Liability Litigation Associate

The Kaufman Dolowich Woodbury, Long Island office—part of a nationally recognized law firm with more than 250 attorneys nationwide and honored by U.S. News as one of the "Best Companies to Work For - Law Firms"—is seeking a General Liability Associate Attorney with 1+ years of experience to join our growing and highly collaborative General Liability Defense team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated, high-exposure litigation matters alongside experienced litigators. Associates receive meaningful hands-on experience, direct client interaction, strong mentorship, and early responsibility handling a broad range of general liability defense matters. Responsibilities Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution in a collaborative team environment Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery demands and responses, legal memoranda, and other litigation-related documents Conduct court appearances, depositions, inspections, mediations, settlement negotiations, and motion practice Handle a broad range of general liability defense matters, including premises liability and New York Labor Law construction accident cases Communicate directly with clients, carriers, opposing counsel, and witnesses while providing regular case updates and strategic guidance Participate in oral arguments, court conferences, and trial preparation Collaborate closely with attorneys across offices and practice groups on complex litigation matters Qualifications JD from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academic credentials Admission to practice law in New York required 1+ year of insurance defense and/or general liability litigation experience Experience handling general liability defense matters, including premises liability and construction accident litigation preferred Exceptional legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills Strong organizational and case management abilities with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Why KD? Base Salary Range:

$100,000 - $150,000 Please note that the stated salary range is an estimate and does not guarantee a specific offer. Actual compensation will be determined based on market location, experience, skills, and job-related qualifications. Base salary represents one component of Kaufman Dolowich's comprehensive Total Rewards package, which also includes a discretionary and billable hours-based bonus program and a robust benefits offering for full-time employees.
