ERAL MAINTENANCE

COFFEE CUP TRAVEL PLAZA TA EXPRESS POSITION OVERVIEW

The General Maintenance team member supports the overall cleanliness, safety, and basic upkeep of the travel plaza facilities, grounds, and fuel area. This role focuses primarily on light maintenance, outdoor care, and routine cleaning to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for guests and team members.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintain exterior cleanliness of the travel plaza, including parking lots, sidewalks, fuel lanes, and common areas Pick up and remove trash and debris; maintain dumpsters and trash areas Perform routine pump and fuel island cleaning and basic visual checks Maintain dog park area (cleaning, trash removal, basic upkeep) Shovel snow, salt walkways, and assist with weather-related cleanup as needed Perform basic light maintenance such as changing light bulbs, replacing filters, tightening fixtures, and minor repairs Assist with delivery unloading and organization as needed Support restroom, lobby, and exterior cleaning when necessary Respond to basic maintenance requests from leadership Provide friendly, professional guest service at all times

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent preferred Prior experience in groundskeeping, janitorial work, or general maintenance helpful but not required

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Reliable, punctual, and safety-minded Able to follow instructions and work independently Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions Customer-service oriented and respectful with guests and team members Basic ability to use hand tools and cleaning equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, or snow Ability to shovel snow and push carts/equipment
