Job Description

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead the operations of a 40-room boutique hotel with a full-service Restaurant in the heart of Fayetteville, WV, near the stunning New River Gorge National Park. The ideal candidate brings a passion for hospitality, a strong background in hotel and F&B operations, and a commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences in a unique and vibrant setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Hotel Operations & Leadership:
Oversee daily operations across all departments: front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, guest services, sales and food & beverage. Recruit, train, and manage a cross-functional hospitality team with a focus on performance, service, and teamwork. Monitor and manage guest satisfaction, ensuring personalized and locally inspired service that aligns with brand standards.
Financial & Administrative:
Manage budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure profitability across hotel and F&B operations. Analyze daily, weekly, and monthly reports to track performance and support informed decision-making. Collaborate with ownership on revenue management, strategic goals, forecasting, and operational planning.
Marketing & Community Engagement:
Partner with marketing and local tourism to promote the hotel and its F&B offerings through social media, events, and strategic partnerships. Serve as a local brand ambassador and actively participate in community initiatives and networking.
Property Oversight:
Ensure that all facilities are clean, well-maintained, and operating efficiently. Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers as needed for maintenance, supplies, and service contracts.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of hotel management experience, including oversight of Food & Beverage operations (boutique, independent, or lifestyle hotel experience preferred). Strong leadership skills with a hands-on management style. Experience with hospitality systems, including property management software (PMS), POS, and booking engines. Proven track record of delivering excellent guest service and driving financial performance. Working knowledge of food safety, alcohol service laws, and hospitality compliance standards. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Passion for creating memorable experiences and connecting with the local community.
