General Manager - Manufacturing & CNC OperationsAbout Us We are a growing manufacturer and supplier of high-quality carbide tooling used in machining and fabrication environments. We focus on consistent quality, efficient production, and dependable delivery. As a manufacturing business, we value hands-on leadership, operational discipline, problem-solving, and continuous improvement on the shop floor. Position Summary We are seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager with a strong background in CNC machining and manufacturing operations to lead daily operations and drive operational excellence across the business. A background in Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) is strongly preferred. This role requires a highly detailed leader who understands CNC production environments, process control, quality systems, tooling, scheduling, and manufacturing efficiency. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership with technical manufacturing knowledge and is willing to stay closely involved with shop floor operations. The General Manager will oversee manufacturing operations, process improvement, production planning, inventory, purchasing, customer communication, and overall operational performance. Key Responsibilities Lead, coach, and manage shop personnel while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, accountability, and productivity. Oversee daily manufacturing operations including scheduling, workflow, labor utilization, and on-time delivery. Support shop operations directly by troubleshooting production issues and removing bottlenecks. Lead manufacturing engineering and continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, throughput, quality, and scalability. Develop and improve manufacturing processes, SOPs, workflow documentation, and operational systems. Ensure consistent product quality and strong process control throughout manufacturing. Manage purchasing, inventory, vendors, and material planning to support uninterrupted production. Shepherd orders from quote to cash, ensuring smooth coordination between quoting, production, invoicing, and shipment. Communicate directly with customers regarding quotes, lead times, order status, and delivery expectations. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional manufacturing environment. Qualifications 6-12 years of experience in CNC machining, manufacturing, tooling, carbide, or industrial production environments. Strong CNC machining background required. Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET) background strongly preferred. Proven leadership experience in a hands-on manufacturing or machine shop environment. Strong understanding of CNC operations, manufacturing workflows, quality systems, tooling, and process control. Experience improving manufacturing efficiency, workflow, throughput, and operational performance. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Experience implementing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. ERP/MRP system experience preferred. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced small business manufacturing environment. Ideal Candidate Traits Highly detail-oriented and process-driven. Strong sense of ownership and accountability.
