Job Description
Job Overview Ore Hill and Swyft, a dual concept, seasonally focussed restaurant in Kent Connecticut, seeks qualified candidates for the role of General Manager. Strong communication, time management, and leadership through hands on participation and support in service are needed qualities. Swyft is an upscale tavern serving lunch and dinner Thursday through Sunday. Ore Hill is the fine dining side, serving a choice of Chef's tasting or Prix Fixe both with Wine pairings offered, dinner only, Thursday through Saturday . We benefit from our association with Rock Cobble Farm just a few miles up the road as well as our other neighboring farmers from whom we source the majority of our ingredients. Duties Oversee daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service flow and adherence to quality standards. Lead and motivate staff through effective training, coaching, and development initiatives to foster a high-performance team. Utilize
TOAST POS
system for accurate cash handling, sales tracking, and reporting. Coordinate shift management by scheduling staff efficiently to meet customer demand during peak hours. Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Skills Extensive experience in food industry management with a strong background in restaurant operations and hospitality management. Proven supervising experience with a focus on team management, training & development, and leadership skills. Familiarity with Toast POS system as well as Inventory soft wear platforms such as MarginEdge. Strong knowledge of inventory control techniques, and budgeting Excellent communication skills for interviewing staff, conducting training sessions, and managing customer relations. Ability to handle cash accurately and perform shift management efficiently while maintaining high standards of hospitality.
