Job Description:
Position Overview An organization is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee a diverse portfolio of real estate assets, operational activities, and administrative functions. This individual will report directly to ownership and serve as a key leader across finance, property operations, and strategic asset oversight. The role will supervise both administrative personnel and skilled operational staff responsible for supporting day-to-day organizational activities. Key Responsibilities Lead the financial, operational, and administrative management of multiple affiliated entities and real estate holdings. Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis for ongoing operations. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, operating reports, and related management reporting. Coordinate and oversee property management activities across residential and leased properties, including lease administration, maintenance coordination, vendor oversight, and tenant communications. Manage and support land and property-related operational activities through coordination with internal staff and external partners. Participate in committees, boards, and affiliated organizations related to property operations, community management, and shared services. Support tax-related reporting and documentation in coordination with external advisors and affiliated departments. Assist with special projects related to real estate operations, asset management, and long-term planning initiatives. Candidate Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, operational, financial, and communication skills, along with the ability to operate effectively in a highly confidential environment.
Additional qualifications include:
15+ years of experience in real estate operations, property management, asset management, project management, or related fields. Exposure to construction oversight or capital improvement projects is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities. Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels. Experience supporting executives, ownership groups, or high-net-worth stakeholders in confidential matters. Bachelor's degree required; Accounting, Finance, or Business background preferred. Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications. Experience with mapping, land management, or property-related software platforms is a plus. Comfortable working in environments connected to land management, outdoor operations, or large property portfolios.
