The General Maintenance Mechanic will perform a wide variety of duties essential to the manufacture of chemical products while consistently adhering to all established safety and operating procedures. Essential Functions installation, mechanical repair, & preventative maintenance of rotating equipment, piping & valves which may include: pipe welding, brazing and/or heavy equipment operation. Write work orders and obtain needed parts and supplies within the computerized maintenance management system. Assist in coordinating activities with other co-workers, supervisors, and operations personnel. Support and encourage a strong HSE and team environment Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company's core values, competencies, and skills. Education Qualifications Required High School or Equivalent Experience Qualifications Required 3+ years journeyman-level maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment or equivalent combination of education and experience Preferred chemical manufacturing experience, apprenticeship and/or UA welding certification Skills and Abilities demonstrated ability to install, repair, and/or maintain rotating equipment, piping, and/or valves pipefitting, welding & heavy equipment operation experience a plus Working Conditions/Physical Demands Working on or around moving machinery; operating vehicles with and without loading responsibilities as part of daily operations. Regularly lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying objects, tools and equipment weighing between 25 and 50pounds daily Performs job duties both indoors and outdoors, with regular exposure to varying environmental conditions. Frequently walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing or reaching to complete assigned tasks, including reaching above shoulderlevel. Requires full use of both hands and strong finger dexterity for equipment operation, controls, and tools.
