Job Description

General Production Worker Job Description The General Production Worker supports day-to-day operations in a food manufacturing facility by handling cheese products, operating and feeding packaging lines, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. This role involves physical, hands-on work, including loading, stacking, inspecting, and repackaging products while following strict food safety, quality, and sanitation standards. The position offers stable, full-time hours on either an early morning or afternoon-to-late-night shift. Responsibilities Load cheese onto conveyors to feed packaging machines efficiently and safely. Remove cheese from brine cages and prepare it for further processing or packaging. Construct boxes, pack finished products into boxes, and ensure packaging is secure and properly labeled as required. Stack cheese boxes neatly on pallets so finished goods fit into cooler racks without damage. Remove packaging material from rejected cheese and prepare product for repackaging according to established procedures. Inspect product and packaging for foreign material, defects, and imperfections, segregating any suspect product. Rerun suspect product through metal detection equipment and, if unacceptable, document the vat number and promptly inform a supervisor. Perform cleaning and sanitation tasks to maintain plant equipment and ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a clean, modern food manufacturing facility where strict safety and sanitation procedures are followed at all times. The environment includes production lines, conveyors, packaging equipment, and metal detection systems, with a strong emphasis on Good Manufacturing Practices and regulatory compliance. Work is performed on-site, Monday through Friday, with one shift running from 5:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and another from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The position involves standing for long periods, performing repetitive tasks, and handling manual lifting and stacking of boxes and materials. Employees follow established safety guidelines and hygiene standards appropriate for a food production setting.
PAY:
$21 Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Middlesex, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.04 - $23.09/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
