General Production Worker Job Description This General Production Worker role supports metal finishing operations, including anodizing and powder coating masking, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will prepare and process metal components, operate production equipment, handle chemicals and masking materials, and follow detailed work instructions to ensure high-quality finished parts. The position is well-suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, comfortable with hands-on work, and able to work safely around machinery and industrial chemicals on either a first or second shift schedule. Responsibilities Prepare and set up anodizing tanks and related equipment, ensuring proper chemical composition, solution levels, and operating conditions before production begins. Operate anodizing machinery to apply protective oxide coatings to metal parts, primarily aluminum, using an electrolytic process in accordance with defined procedures. Inspect and test metal components before, during, and after the anodizing process to verify coating thickness, appearance, and overall quality meet established standards. Maintain, clean, and monitor anodizing and chemical tanks, including checking temperatures, solution levels, rinse cycles, and sealing procedures to ensure consistent results. Work closely with laboratory or quality personnel to adjust chemical concentrations, process parameters, and operating conditions to maintain process stability and product quality. Apply masking materials such as tape, plugs, caps, discs, or paper to designated areas of parts to protect them from powder coating, following work instructions and specifications. Remove masking materials after coating in a careful manner to avoid damaging or contaminating finished parts. Read and follow blueprints, drawings, process sheets, and written work instructions to determine masking requirements and part handling steps. Assist with part preparation tasks such as cleaning, light sanding, and fixture handling to support the powder coating process. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work takes place in shop and production floor conditions where temperatures can exceed 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times. The role involves standing for most of the shift, regularly lifting up to 50 pounds, and working around industrial machinery, anodizing tanks, powder coating equipment, and various hand and measuring tools. You will handle chemicals, masking materials, and metal components, and you must follow established safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Available schedules include a first shift from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and a second shift from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Sunday through Thursday. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blairsville, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $17.00/hr.
