Geriatric Nursing Assistant

Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature; document findings accurately in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) or EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper techniques and adherence to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Provide specialized dementia and Alzheimer's care, including memory support strategies and behavioral health management Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care in settings such as nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or hospital units like ICU or emergency departments Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures such as catheter care or phlebotomy; ensure infection control protocols are followed diligently Assist with transfers and mobility using equipment like Hoyer lifts; support safe patient movement to prevent falls or injuries Qualifications Proven experience working with seniors in long-term care, assisted living, hospital medicine, or home & community care environments Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital signs monitoring Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation Familiarity with specialized care areas including dementia care, behavioral health, hospice care, ICU, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Level I Trauma Centers is highly desirable Certification in basic life support (BLS) required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges; experience in acute or sub-acute care settings preferred Strong communication skills and a compassionate attitude towards elderly patients and their families Join us if you're passionate about providing exceptional senior care!
