We are currently accepting applications for a Gift Shop Manager position at My Old Kentucky Home State Park. We are seeking an energetic, organized, and customer-focused individual to lead daily operations of our gift shop while creating a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience for all guests. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, retail experience, and a passion for customer service. This includes, but is not limited to: Supervising gift shop employees and overseeing daily gift shop operations. Providing exceptional customer service by greeting guests and assisting with purchases and inquiries. Selecting, purchasing, and marketing of gift shop merchandise. Traveling to craft shows and vendor events for the purpose of identifying and purchasing merchandise for the shop. Operating and assisting staff with the point of sale (POS) system, including handling cash, credit card transactions, and daily reconciliations. Collecting and reconciliating gift shop receipts, including cash and charge transactions. Maintaining attractive merchandise displays and ensuring the shop remains clean, organized, and fully stocked. Ordering, receiving, pricing, and stocking merchandise for the gift shop. Monitoring inventory levels, maintaining accurate inventory records, and conducting quarterly inventory reports for submission to central office. Keeping accurate records of sales, inventory, and sales tax collected. Submitting various business reports to the business manager and central office. Maintaining frequent contact with sales representatives and handling correspondence with vendors and mail-order customers. Training employees in customer relations, cash register operations, and credit card systems. Assisting with merchandising decisions and seasonal product displays to maximize sales opportunities. Handling customer concerns or complaints professionally and courteously. Coordinating with park staff regarding special events, tours, and promotional activities. Participating in training sessions to stay informed about park policies, procedures, and merchandise offerings. Working occasional evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed. Selling a variety of merchandise items to gift shop customers while promoting a positive guest experience. EDUCATION
High school graduate.
