GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop maximum athletic potential and characteristics of good citizenship and sportsmanship of student athletics through proper conditioning, example, and teaching.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Make periodic reviews of the grades of student-athletes and managers during the season to ensure players/managers are keeping up with their studies and maintaining their athletic eligibility. Train managers, timers, and scorers. Be aware of and enforce MIAA and NCAHS rules and regulations. Provide reports in writing within twenty-four hours to the Athletic Director for any major infractions of accepted school rules and policies by any student participant during any aspect of the athletic program. The Athletic Director and/or Principal determines any necessary disciplinary action to be taken. See that injured athletes are properly cared for and rehabilitated. All accidents/injuries requiring outside medical attention or parent/ambulance pick-up must be reported to the AD as soon as safely possible and no later than 12 hours after the injury. An NCAHS Injury Report Form must also be submitted within twenty-four hours to the Athletic Director for any injuries requiring outside attention. Ensure all regulations concerning the school's state-approved concussion policy are followed and documented. Work with the Athletic Director in scheduling practices, games, and scrimmages. Develop challenging, diverse developmentally/physically appropriate practices as part of the comprehensive training regimen for all players. Prepare budget requests and specifications for submission to the Athletic Director. Coaches are responsible for providing uniform and equipment inventory checklists at the end of the season to help track down or replace missing items. Be responsible for equipment and uniform inventory during the season. Assign and keep records for athletic lockers. Provide score results via email to the Athletic Director by 10:00 PM, or as soon as is practicable, on match days. Attend all necessary school and league pre-season and postseason meetings. Attend all award ceremonies and athletic banquets for your team. Write a report of the team's record and accomplishments after the season. Accompany and supervise student-athletes from the start of practice/athletic competition until each student-athlete has left the school via late bus or parent pick-up. Responsible for each team's administrative aspects including contacting teachers on early dismissal days, contacting parents, transportation attendance, and composing the formal team roster. Responsible for implementing and overseeing tryouts to be held during the week of August 18, 2025.
