Gourmet Mushroom Farm Worker

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and motivated team member to join our indoor gourmet mushroom farm. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting daily farm operations, helping with a variety of steps in the mushroom production and learning along the way. No prior experience growing mushrooms is required, but interest in and appreciation for gourmet mushrooms is a plus, as would be prior farm work or work with food production. This position requires a strong work ethic, and the ability to perform various physical tasks to assist in mushroom production in the indoor warehouse farm environment where we grow a variety of gourmet culinary mushrooms. We would specifically be looking for a new team member who would have weekend availability and an interest and excitement to work at farmer's markets selling the mushrooms, as well as in the farm assisting with production. Responsibilities Operate and assist with variety of tools/equipment necessary for mushroom production. Assist in variety of steps for sterilization, inoculation and harvest required. Maintain clean environment in food production site, following all regulations. Utilize hand tools effectively for various farming tasks. Execute heavy lifting tasks as needed for transporting supplies or product. Provide collaborative spirit in preparing orders for customers. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient farm operations. Have bright and outgoing persona ready to sell our amazing mushrooms at farmer's markets, with weekend availability. Qualifications Proven experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred but not mandatory. Can do attitude with ability to perform a variety of tasks independently and reliably. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks regularly. Experience using farm machinery safely and effectively, willingness to learn new protocols as relates to specialized equipment for mushroom farming.
