Job Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and delivering engaging instructional lessons while creating and refining elementary school curriculum aligned with educational standards. The teacher fosters a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:
Plans and implements problem based learning units. Possesses knowledge and skills in differentiating learning processes, content, and assessments. Motivates learners. Collaborates and participates in development of programs that support the learning needs of all students. Demonstrates commitment to establishing/maintaining frequent communication with parents/guardians. Interest in and knowledge of history, geography, civics and government. Ability to adapt to the various ages within an elementary school setting. Proficient in technological applications and presentation. Possesses the ability to establish community partnerships that will support student learning. Adheres to the requirements and standards of the Rhode Island Department of Education Educator Evaluation process. Performs related work as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Knowledge of elementary curriculum, including differentiated instruction. Knowledge of curriculum design, lesson planning, and pedagogy, experience preferred. Experience in innovative, problem based instruction preferred.
Education:
Bachelor degree required.
Certification & Licensing:
Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
