Grade 4 Classroom Teacher

Rectory School is searching for an experienced, motivated, and passionate grade 4 classroom teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The grade 4 teacher is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing the academic curriculum by embracing Rectory's vision and utilizing current best practices in education; communicating with families about students' progress; promoting equity and diversity; and supporting the mission of the school. The qualified candidate will possess a joyful spirit, strong pedagogical skills, deep content knowledge in literacy and numeracy, and a strong ability to establish a positive classroom culture where students do the work of the thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

Encourage children to question and explore the world in which they live. Prepare weekly curriculum plans and experiences for your classroom, and make sure that they accurately reflect the school's mission and philosophy. Provide individualized, small, and large group instruction in order to support the diverse needs of each child. Show strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, and an interest in working closely with other colleagues, as well as independently. Develop and maintain communication and a positive relationship with parents. Attend all faculty, family, and parent meetings as required. Exhibit total commitment to maintaining high expectations for our children and the professional standards, policies, and procedures of Rectory School.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in elementary education, Master's degree is desirable Elementary teaching certification Knowledge of child development Excellent verbal and written communication skills The grade 4 teacher reports to the Director of Elementary and will work closely with all other members of the Elementary team.
