Immediately Job Description Waterville Elementary School is seeking a dynamic multi-age teacher to work in with our grades 5-6 teams. The successful candidate should possess the knowledge and skills necessary to plan, instruct, and assess curriculum for elementary school students. The ideal candidate must commit to creating a welcoming, inclusive, affirming and fun learning environment. The ideal candidate also will be adept in:
  • ARC reading programs, Bridges, Math, MAPS, Fastbridge, and Phonics to Reading is preferred
  • Understanding of equitable classroom practices, including restorative models, PBIS, Responsive Classroom, culturally responsive pedagogy, have a growth mindset, and an understanding of anti-bias / anti-racist practices.
  • Partnering on a multi-grade team
  • Instituting effective classroom management strategies
  • Incorporating knowledge of child development and Social-Emotional Learning when developing a classroom, team and learning community
  • Differentiating instruction for all learners in an inclusive learning environment
  • Strong skills in implementing a balanced literacy program,
  • Experience with formative assessments and data-driven instruction
  • Actively communicating with students and their families
  • Demonstrating adaptability and flexibility with practices necessary to thrive in a dynamic public school setting LNSU provides a generous compensation and benefit package and is an EOE.
