Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school district in New Paltz, NY is seeking a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support students across grades K-12. This contract position begins immediately and extends at least through the remainder of the school year, with potential for continuation. Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The role involves managing a caseload of approximately 20-30 sessions weekly, working Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM (37.5 hours per week). The teacher will provide services across multiple locations, ranging from 2 to 8 sites depending on the schedule.
Key Qualifications:
Valid New York State Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing certification Experience working with students in grades K through 12, specifically grades 6-8 and 9-12 Ability to manage a caseload and deliver effective instruction in diverse school settings Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with educators, families, and support staff
