To receive (one) 3-credit hour graduate course for coursework that is included in the Data Analytics and Counselor Education program, the GA must work 140 hours per semester. Dedicated to tradition and transformation, the Office of Student Engagement at McDaniel College seeks to enhance student engagement through meaningful involvement in dynamic and inclusive campus programming, leadership development, and robust club and organizational opportunities. This position will provide guidance to registered student organizations as they plan and execute events. Informed by best practices• in the field of Higher education,The Office of Student Engagement:
Builds connection and belonging to enhance the holistic well-being of every student. Cultivates collaborative partnerships to promote safe and inclusive communities. Creates a student-centered space where every individual can explore their passion and interests through co-curricular activities and experiences. Practices intentional conversations and open exchanges of ideas in a context of mutual respect. Develops transferable skills through comprehensive programming, exploration, and growth to empower agents of change in the global community. Specific Responsibilities -Provide programming support to Greek Life Plan, collaborate, and facilitate various development workshops for Greek Life students using the McDaniel Pillars of Greek Life. Track student completion data throughout the semester/year to ensure Greeks are meeting their membership requirements. Plan and execute 2 large scale Greek Life social events per semester. Meet with students to provide guidance in their event planning processes. -Provide Student Programming Support Provide mentorship to student leaders by meeting one on one with each and working toward their growth and development. Assist withGTP & SGA
events including but not limited to general events, dances, and workshops. Work collaboratively with other offices to further advance the mission of Student Engagement in an inclusive manner. Help student employees execute JanTerm programming for first-year students. Provide staffing as needed for Student Engagement events.Requirements:
Enrolled in graduate program at McDaniel College in counseling human resources, or a related field. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable with public speaking. Demonstrate initiative, time management and attention to detail. Proficient in MS Office; ability to learn/navigate student engagement software; manipulate/analyze data; social media. Professional demeanor is a must.Physical Characteristics:
This position requires sitting for long periods of time, as well as some bending and stooping when working with files. This position requires some physical activity including participation in nature walks, walks into downtown Westminster, and ice-breaker type activities. This position does have some limited lifting involved but not more than 10 pounds at a time. Quite a bit of finger/hand dexterity is involved in regards to typing and/or filing. The overall setting of the job is in an area conducive to a normal office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.Additional Information:
