Job Summary The Graduation Specialist works directly and collaboratively with the graduation, commencement & athletic certification coordinator, UT Tyler faculty and staff, and the office of the registrar to ensure UT Tyler students are on-track and have met graduation requirements for their respective degrees. Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions from the cold to extreme heat, as well as in a fluid environment Occasional travel and some extended hours and weekend work are required. Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks Evaluate all applications for graduation to verify students have met University graduation requirements. Identify and follow up on any noted graduation deficiencies. Correspond directly with colleges, academic advising community, other registrar staff, and additional campus constituents as needed to confirm status of outstanding graduation requirements. Utilize graduation tracking reports and communications with campus stakeholders to promote the timeliness of graduation reviews. Assist supervisors with final reviews for degree conferral or denial and associated follow up actions. Coordinate with campus stakeholders to plan and execute communication campaigns related to the first day to file, priority filing date, and final filing deadline for each graduation cycle. Run reports that are designed to identify potential graduation roadblocks, follow up with other registrar staff and relevant campus stakeholders to resolve issues prior to final review of the graduation application. Assist with research, processing, and coordination of items related to graduation, commencement, athletics certification, curriculum, and other areas as assigned. Aid registrar staff with peak processing of transfer credit reviews, core curriculum, enrollments, and other areas. Serve as backup for NCAA D2 certification reviews and data entry. Functional IT testing user related to all job duties, including testing patches, bundles, upgrades, assisting with development and testing of technical projects, and work related to external software to support the office. Other duties as assigned. Required Education/Experience Bachelor's degree in a related field. Two (2) years' experience with higher education. May accept a combination of education and experience. Preferred Education/Experience Master's degree in related field. Two (2) years of experience in a position requiring considerable record keeping accuracy. Proficiency with oracle/PeopleSoft campus solutions. Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies Proficient with Microsoft Suite. Strong customer service and communication skills, both in person and over the phone. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and coordinate events and activities. Ability to adapt to new technologies and software systems quickly. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently. Interact professionally with students, faculty, and university leadership. Demonstrated flexibility and initiative in a dynamic work environment. Ethical.
