Job Description
To Apply for this Job Click Here We're seeking a detail-oriented Grant Accountant to join a mission-driven accounting team. This role is responsible for managing grant-related financial activity, ensuring compliance with funding requirements, supporting month-end close, and partnering with program teams to track and report on grant performance. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and record grant-related journal entries
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for grant accounts
- Monitor grant budgets and track spending against awarded funding
- Review grant agreements to ensure compliance with funding terms and restrictions
- Reconcile grant-related accounts and investigate variances
- Prepare financial reports for internal stakeholders and external grantors
- Support audits by compiling documentation and responding to grant-specific inquiries
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and grant-specific regulations (federal, state, or private)
- Partner with program managers and finance teams to support budgeting and forecasting
- Maintain and improve grant accounting processes and internal controls Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-5+ years of accounting experience (grant, fund, nonprofit, or public accounting preferred)
- Familiarity with grant accounting principles and compliance requirements (e.g., Uniform Guidance)
- Experience tracking restricted funds and multi-funding sources
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or nonprofit-specific systems a plus)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple funding sources Why Join?
