POSITION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Chief Financial Officer, the Manager of Grant Writing & Strategic Funding provides leadership in developing and executing a comprehensive funding strategy to support the mission and growth of Habitat for Humanity of the Nature Coast. This position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and securing federal, state, foundation, corporate, and major donor funding opportunities while supporting broader fundraising initiatives in coordination with the marketing team. The Manager leads the full lifecycle of grant development and management, oversees strategic donor cultivation, and strengthens partnerships that advance affordable housing initiatives throughout the community. This role plays a critical part in securing sustainable revenue streams, enhancing donor engagement, and positioning the organization for long-term growth and impact. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in federal grant acquisition, philanthropic relationship management, strategic funding development, and cross-functional collaboration.ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
Grant Development & Strategic Funding Conduct targeted research to identify federal, state, local, corporate, and foundation grant opportunities aligned with organizational priorities. Develop and manage a comprehensive grants Tracker, including deadlines, reporting requirements, and funding cycles. Lead the full grant lifecycle, including prospecting, letters of intent, proposal writing, application submission, award management, and post-award reporting and compliance. Prepare compelling, data-driven grant narratives, budgets, supporting documentation, and impact reports. Oversee government grant research, writing, compliance, and reporting, including programs related to HUD, CDBG, HOME, and other housing initiatives. Develop and implement diversified funding strategies with an emphasis on federal funding opportunities and long-term sustainability. Identify opportunities for public-private partnerships and collaborative funding initiatives. Monitor funding trends and provide strategic recommendations to organizational leadership. Meet or exceed annual revenue goals for grants, philanthropic funding, and strategic partnerships. Major Donor & Philanthropic Development Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major individual donors and philanthropic partners. Build and maintain a strong pipeline of private foundation and corporate donors. Collaborate with leadership on donor meetings, presentations, cultivation strategies, and stewardship activities. Prepare customized proposals, donor communications, stewardship reports, and impact materials. Support long-term donor engagement and moves management strategies to increase philanthropic giving. Marketing & Fundraising Support Collaborate with the marketing team to secure: Corporate sponsorships Gift-in-kind donations Silent auction items and event contributions Assist with fundraising campaigns, community outreach, and impact storytelling initiatives. Represent Habitat for Humanity of the Nature Coast at meetings, community events, and partnership engagements. Data Management & Compliance Maintain accurate donor, grant, and funding records within CRM and database systems (Charity Proud). Ensure integrity, verification, analytics, and reporting of fundraising and donor data. Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to grant and donor tracking systems. Coordinate with Finance and leadership teams to ensure accurate gift processing and compliance. Ensure compliance with all grants, donor, IRS, and Habitat for Humanity reporting requirements. Track grant outcomes and performance metrics to support renewals and future funding opportunities. Leadership & Teamwork Maintain strong knowledge of organizational programs, strategic priorities, and community impact to effectively represent the organization. Support the development of annual and long-term funding goals in collaboration with executive leadership. Champion teamwork, collaboration, and creative problem-solving across departments. Demonstrate professionalism, initiative, and a mission-driven approach to organizational success.SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
- Demonstrated success securing federal, state, foundation, and corporate grants.
- Strong experience managing major donor relationships and philanthropic giving strategies.
- Exceptional grant writing, editing, storytelling, and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of nonprofit funding streams, government grants, and philanthropic development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and funding priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to present information effectively to leadership, boards, donors, and community stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor/grant management systems such as Salesforce, or similar CRM platforms.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, business, marketing, or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of five (2-5) years of experience in grant writing, fundraising, nonprofit development, or strategic funding. Experience in affordable housing, community development, or related nonprofit sectors preferred. Familiarity with federal housing and community development funding programs strongly preferred.Pay:
