Job Description

We at Summit are a group of motivated individuals who specialize in delivering creative environmental graphics, signage and architectural elements to a wide range of clientele. Located in the metro St. Louis area, we work with companies both locally and nationwide to enhance the visual impact of their space. Our clientele ranges from architect firms and developers to corporate companies and small businesses. We are looking for a graphic designer who is ready to expand their knowledge and take on new challenges! The primary objective of this role is to understand the client's business needs, determine the best solution(s) for that particular client, and execute designs based on those solutions while staying on budget. You'll be the one to shape the visual aspects of a client's space, both exterior and interior. Our typical design process includes defining the project requirements, visualizing and creating the signage or graphics, and working with the team to determine construction methods and proper materials used. Your designs should accurately represent the client's brand and capture the attention of those who see them. For this, we are looking for someone with a creative flair and a strong ability to translate project details into design. Our ideal candidate will be a proficient designer with a keen eye for aesthetics and possesses strong communication skills. Is a team player and is self-motivated to ensure projects are brought to completion. Interacting with our clientele via email, phone and in-person is one of the more important (and fun) parts of this position! Responsibilities Develop design concepts and visuals using Adobe Creative Suite Create detailed artwork, photo renderings, and prepare proof proposals to communicate the finished product to the client Managing multiple projects and meeting project deadlines Attending client meetings (in-person and phone/Zoom) and presenting design concepts as needed Amend designs after client feedback Working with our team to communicate artwork details to outside vendors and fabrication departments Thinking creatively to produce new and innovative designs (we like to think outside the box!) Skills and Qualifications Proven graphic design experience and strong portfolio Experience in the Sign Industry strongly desired Excellent communication skills Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines Ability to actively participate in client meetings and speak intelligently about your designs Ability to be a team player and effective independently Attention to detail A keen eye for aesthetics Experienced level of proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or related field Basic level proficiency with mathematical principles (ability to measure in inches and feet, and calculating square footage) Experience and/or education in Marketing is a plus, but not required Experience with 3D softwares such as SketchUp or Autodesk 3ds Max is a plus, but not required Benefits 100% health insurance coverage Paid time off accrual Dental insurance Parental leave Retirement Plan Bonus Pay Job Type Full-time Pay $65,000 -$90,000 per year based on experience
