Full Job Description Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Greenhouse Grower to oversee the operations of our greenhouse facility. The Greenhouse Grower will be responsible for managing all aspects of greenhouse production, including plant care, pest management, irrigation, fertilization, and inventory management. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of greenhouse technology and sustainable farming practices.

Responsibilities:

Greenhouse Operations Management:

Oversee day-to-day operations of the greenhouse facility, including monitoring and managing environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, light, and ventilation. Ensure that the greenhouse operates efficiently and effectively to optimize plant growth and yield.

Plant Care:

Supervise and perform plant care tasks such as planting, transplanting, pruning, fertilizing, and watering. Monitor plant health and implement appropriate pest and disease control measures to maintain optimal plant quality.

Irrigation Management:

Develop and implement irrigation schedules and systems to ensure that plants receive adequate water and nutrients. Monitor and manage irrigation equipment, making necessary adjustments to optimize water use and prevent wastage.

Inventory Management:

Maintain accurate records of plant inventory, including tracking plant growth stages, varieties, and quantities. Coordinate with procurement and sales teams to ensure appropriate plant inventory levels are maintained to meet customer demand.

Sustainability Practices:

Implement and maintain sustainable farming practices in the greenhouse, such as integrated pest management, water conservation, and waste reduction. Stay updated with the latest trends and innovations in greenhouse technology and sustainable agriculture.

Compliance and Safety:

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety protocols, including those related to pesticide application, worker safety, and environmental protection.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in greenhouse management or related field Experience with irrigation systems and equipment Knowledge of pest and disease control methods and integrated pest management Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities Ability to work independently and solve problems proactively Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
