Greenskeeper

Summary:

Maintain and enhance turf, greens, tees, fairways, bunkers, and course grounds to deliver high-quality playing conditions and an excellent guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Mow, roll, and trim greens, tees, fairways, collars, and roughs to established height and presentation standards. Operate and maintain turf equipment (mowers, utility vehicles, aerators, topdressers, irrigation controllers).

Perform routine turf cultural practices:

irrigating, fertilizing, aeration, topdressing, overseeding, verti-cutting, and pest/disease monitoring.

Maintain bunkers:

raking, edging, drainage checks, and sand replacement. Monitor, adjust, and repair irrigation systems; perform system checks and basic repairs. Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers safely and in compliance with label instructions, local and federal regulations. Assist with landscaping, tree/shrub care, facility upkeep, and course setup for daily play and special events/tournaments. Record maintenance activities, spray logs, equipment maintenance, and inventory of supplies. Follow safety protocols, maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, and report hazards or equipment issues. Work collaboratively with the grounds team and communicate course conditions to superintendents and staff.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior experience in greenskeeping, turf maintenance, groundskeeping, or similar preferred. Valid driver's license. Ability to operate turf equipment safely. Basic knowledge of turfgrass care, irrigation, and pest control practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in turf management, pesticide application, or related field. Experience using GPS/automated irrigation controllers. Familiarity with local turfgrass species and agronomic practices.

Skills and Abilities:

Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation. Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks outdoors for extended periods. Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required. Good communication skills and ability to follow directions. Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn.

Working Conditions:

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, rain). Exposure to noise, chemicals (with required PPE), and powered machinery. Seasonal workload increases (spring/fall aeration, tournament prep).

Compensation:

Competitive hourly wage depending on experience.

Pay:

$16.00 - $22.00 per hour
