Job Description

Category Schools - OT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students and staff during a key time of transition. This full-time, contract position provides maternity leave coverage from mid-August through the beginning of October, focusing on delivering high-quality occupational therapy services within a school environment near Inwood, WV. You'll play a vital role, adapting your expertise to diverse settings, including in-school, home health, and teletherapy sessions. Your ability to foster student growth through individualized intervention will make a lasting impact in this collaborative educational setting. The ideal candidate brings flexibility, compassion, and a broad skill set spanning gross motor skill development and experience working as a COTA or occupational therapist.
Qualifications:
Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) Prior experience in school-based settings preferred Proficiency with gross motor skills interventions Comfortable delivering services via teletherapy, in-home visits, and in-person school sessions Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to quickly integrate into a multidisciplinary team Reliable, adaptable, and able to manage a diverse caseload
Responsibilities:
Assess student needs and develop individualized therapy plans Provide evidence-based OT interventions in school, home, or virtual settings Collaborate with educators and families to maximize student progress Document evaluations, session notes, and outcomes timely and accurately Offer education and support to staff and caregivers as needed Ensure continuity of care during maternity leave period with consistent, high-quality service delivery This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive school community, serve a variety of student needs, and expand your professional experience.
