Schedule:

Friday Primary Purpose:

Perform mechanical repairs to ensure the proper performance and safety of tractors, mowers, vehicles, and two-stroke equipment. Work on assigned projects, following established procedures.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs on all units
• Ability to operate all equipment and instruct others on proper operation per manufacturer's guidelines
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts and physically perform the repairs needed

Required Experience:

• Five years of mechanical experience
• Prior experience with landscape equipment

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintenance and Repairs:

• Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles
• Perform mechanical repairs
• Complete minor welding and bodywork tasks as needed
• Service vehicles, mowers, tractors, and small equipment according to established preventive maintenance schedules. Change oil and filters; lubricate vehicle parts; inspect and replace hoses, belts, mirrors, lamps; and maintain all fluid levels, etc.
• Maintain accurate, updated records of preventive maintenance
• Inspect vehicles, mowers, tractors, and small equipment and evaluate the condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and lights; service as needed
• Perform preventive maintenance according to established schedules

Safety:

• Operate tools, equipment, and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties
• Maintain shop, equipment, and tools in safe operating condition

Other:

• Maintain accurate records of time and materials required to perform repairs and service
• Maintain accurate inventories of vehicles, equipment, parts, tools, and consumables
• Communicate and monitor emails, task boards via Outlook, and other computer forms
• Other duties as assigned

Education:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Mechanic experience: 5 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)
