Job Title:

Groundskeeper (Starting @ $23/hr) Job Description The Groundskeeper is responsible for the general upkeep, appearance, and safety of the community's common outdoor areas. This role plays a vital part in maintaining curb appeal, supporting property values, and ensuring a clean, welcoming environment for residents and visitors. The position is primarily outdoors and involves routine grounds maintenance, seasonal tasks, and light exterior repairs using hand and power tools. Responsibilities Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all common outdoor areas to support strong curb appeal and property values. Perform routine groundskeeping tasks such as trash removal, debris pickup, and general outdoor upkeep. Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete daily maintenance and seasonal projects. Carry out light exterior repairs as needed to keep common areas safe, functional, and visually appealing. Monitor the condition of outdoor spaces and promptly address issues related to cleanliness, safety, or minor damage. Support seasonal grounds work, including tasks that may vary by weather and time of year. Collaborate with other members of the groundskeeping team to complete projects efficiently and maintain a consistent standard of quality. Follow established safety procedures and best practices while operating tools and performing outdoor maintenance. Essential Skills Hands-on experience with general groundskeeping and outdoor maintenance. Ability to perform consistent trash removal and maintain clean, orderly common areas. Proficiency in using hand tools for routine grounds work and light repairs. Proficiency in using power tools safely for maintenance and repair tasks. Capability to perform light exterior repairs on common outdoor structures or features. Strong attention to detail to maintain a neat, safe, and welcoming environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience performing general upkeep in residential, HOA, or similar community settings. Comfort working primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions. Work Environment This role is primarily outdoors and follows a Monday through Friday schedule from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch break. The position may occasionally require weekend availability, approximately once per quarter, to support special projects or seasonal needs. You will work as part of a groundskeeping team of seven, using a variety of hand tools and power tools to maintain the property's common areas. The environment emphasizes teamwork, safety, and consistent, high-quality upkeep of outdoor spaces. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Springfield, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
