Department Kinesiology and Education Position Type Non-Exempt Employment Status Part-Time Salary Minimum $30.00 per hour Open Date 11/12/2025 Close Date Open Until Filled No Position Summary Information Job Description Summary The purpose of this position is to directly lead group exercise classes to meet the fitness interests and needs of the participants at Del Mar College. Opportunities may include activities such as, but not limited to Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, Step, Kickboxing, Interval Training, Water Exercise or Thai Chi. Minimum Qualifications Some disciplines require current certification from a recognized organization (documentation of current certification is required prior to first day of employment). Current First Aid/ CPR / AED certification (documentation of current certification is required prior to first day of employment). Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Ability to lead others in fitness activities such as, but not limited to Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, Step, Kickboxing, Interval Training, Water Exercise or Thai Chi. Ability to create an inclusive, welcoming environment and adapt activities to meet the needs of the individual. Ability to establish a positive rapport and relationship with employees. Ability to provide a safe environment. Preferred Qualifications One year teaching/leading group exercise/fitness activities. Special Instructions to Applicants This is a security-sensitive position.
