Founded in 1953 to meet the needs of children with cerebral palsy and their families, Pillar Care has steadily grown and now delivers life-affirming services to infants, children, adults and their families throughout northern New Jersey through 27 program locations. Pillar Care provides specialized programs to meet a wide range of educational, therapeutic, and social needs of people with various disabilities. The agency serves over 1,650 families each year and employs 700 full- and part-time employees. Position OverviewPillar Care Continuum is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician to support and supervise daily operations by ensuring the school building and grounds remain safe, clean, and fully functional. This role plays an important part in creating a supportive environment for students with disabilities and the staff who serve them.

Key ResponsibilitiesPerform routine maintenance on facility systems including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairsComplete daily inspections to identify and address any building or equipment issuesRespond to work orders and emergency repair needs in a timely mannerMaintain cleanliness and functionality of classrooms, restrooms, offices, and shared spacesAssist with room setups and equipment moves for school functions and eventsEnsure compliance with health, safety, and ADA standardsCollaborate with outside vendors when necessaryTrack maintenance supplies and report inventory needsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredMinimum of 5 years experience in building maintenance or related fieldBasic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentryAbility to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, and working in various weather conditionsValid NJ Drivers License and reliable transportationMust pass background check and required health screeningsTrade school training or relevant certifications (Black Seal and pool certification) (Preferred)Experience working in a school or care facility environment (Preferred)
COMPENSATION AND
BENEFITSSalary:
$60,000.00 annually Pillar Care takes into consideration a combination of candidates work experience and qualification as well as the scope of the role, complexity and external market and internal market value when determining salary level.
