Monday-Friday 7:45am-3:15pm Position Overview The Assistant Pre-Kindergarten Teacher supports the classroom environment by focusing on student well-being, daily routines, and non-academic tasks. While not directly responsible for academic instruction, the Assistant ensures smooth operations during transitions, meals, rest time, and recess, helping maintain a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive. Key Responsibilities Support classroom routines and transitions under the collaborative direction of the Director, Lead, and Associate Teachers. Assist students with daily tasks, including arrival, dismissal, coats, backpacks, and belongings. Supervise students during recess, nap/rest time, lunch, and bathroom breaks, ensuring safety and order. Support lunch administration, including distributing meals and assisting students as needed. Help maintain classroom organization, cleanliness, and preparation of materials. Monitor student safety indoors and outdoors, maintaining appropriate supervision at all times. Reinforce positive behavior expectations and assist in classroom management as directed. Perform light housekeeping tasks, including sanitizing toys, tidying play areas, and maintaining hygienic conditions. Communicate observations regarding student well-being to the Lead Teacher and Director. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. CDA credential preferred. Previous experience working with children in a classroom, childcare, or camp setting is a plus. Reliable, flexible, and able to follow directions as part of a teaching team. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and actively engage with young children. Email To A Friend Print Version
