Our Hunting and Fishing retail store located in Freeport, Maine is currently seeking a full-time, year-round Gun Buyer to join the team.
Position Purpose:
Buys, sells, trades and determines the market value of a wide variety of new, used, antique, collectable and fine firearms within established guidelines. Seeks out and maximizes used gun business opportunities. Supports the growth of the business and works to maximize sales volume.Responsibilities:
Buys, sells, trades and determines the market value of a wide variety of new, used, antique, collectable and fine firearms within established guidelines. Seeks out and maximizes used gun business opportunities. Leads the department and sets the example for product knowledge and customer service. Values and works collaboratively and respectfully across a variety of differences among team members and customers. Insures L.L.Bean merchandising standards are adhered to and executed accurately. Works to achieve sales and profitability goals through the training and development of department reps. Restocks merchandise to ensure the department and merchandise displays are organized and fully stocked. Is instrumental in the look, feel, cleanliness and organization of the gun department. Works to develop fine gun business clientele.Health and Safety Requirement:

1+Skills and Qualifications:
Extensive knowledge in firearms history and appraising firearms. Ensures BATF compliance and asset protection through training and development of staff. Extensive knowledge and field experience for a wide range of firearms, scopes, optics as well as big and small game hunting experience. Customer service oriented team player with the ability to pay close attention to detail Demonstrated capacity for collaborative work in a retail environment, is adept at serving customers and teams from a variety of backgrounds Ability to effectively communicate with customers and other business contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
