Your ability to be kind and communicate is as important as your cake decorating talent. We are a buttercream an royal icing bakery, no fondant. We do the occasional wedding cake, but mostly birthday and special occasion cakes and iced sugar cookies. The work environment is hot in the summer. You will work in close quarters with the baking team. Sugar Magnolia Takery is an upbeat, positive work establishment that is committed to quality and our passion for food. We strive to hire likeminded employees and will pay competitively. Read, follow recipes and use food scale. Make cookie dough, royal icing and be prepared to decorate an iced sugar cookie during interview. Demonstrate basic understanding and use of kitchen measurements and kitchen terminology. (teaspoons, tablespoons, and ounces in cups, pints, pounds and quarts. dice, chop, slice etc.

Required skills and attributes:

Ability to work 30+ hrs a week Ability to work weekends 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a regular basis. Ability to adhere strictly to directives and instructions from superiors. Ability to multitask and work well with others.

Sound mental condition:

ability to avoid most mistakes and to handle mistakes appropriately when they do occur. Must possess an enthusiasm for cooking. Must have integrity and honesty Possess good communication skills Must have self-confidence to be comfortable with all persons Must possess the ability to be flexible Ability to work with little or no supervision Must be well groomed and adequately tend to personal hygiene. Active wear, baggy articles and wrinkled or dirty clothing will not be tolerated. Hair and nails must be clean and neatly maintained according to health codes. No facial piercings except small, non-dangling earrings. No gauges
