Assistant Coach(s)EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED required Idaho Teaching Certification, American Sport Education Program Certification, or National Federation of Interscholastic Coaches Association Certification strongly preferred Certification or willingness to obtain certification in first aid and CPR requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrated knowledge of dance, sports training, conditioning, injury prevention, kinesiology, management, and the rules of the Idaho High School Activities Association Handbook Ability to foster and sustain students' interest in the activity and promote skill development Possess good organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work well with students, parents, and colleagues Demonstrate aptitude for working with adolescents, works well with students, staff, and the publicESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support and adhere to the policies and rules established by the IHSAA, the SIC, the Kuna School District and Kuna High School. Attend all tryouts, practice meetings, and in-school events, and supervise students during related field trips and other out-of-school functions. Attend out-of-school meetings, supervise fundraisers, and help students prepare for competitions Organize practice schedules and team rosters. Issue, collect and maintain an inventory of all equipment and uniforms Establish consistent and fair team guidelines for all student-athletes. Model positive behavior, maintain a supportive environment, and remain professional, even when tension is high Coach individual participants of varying abilities in the skills necessary for success in competitive dance Arrange with the athletics and activities director for any necessary transportation, scheduling, or other arrangements for competitions related to the sport. Assist the athletics and activities director, when requested to do so, in maintaining necessary attendance forms, insurance records, physical check-up forms, accident reporting, and all other required paperwork Actively promote the athletic program, seek student participation, and select team members Prepare the team's budget, order necessary supplies and equipment, and maintain appropriate records related to activity expenses and revenues Work with other coaches, parents, referees, news reporters, and operators of non-district facilities used for practice or competition as appropriate Perform other duties as assigned Adhere to The Code of Ethics of the Idaho Teaching Profession adopted by the Professional Standards Commission and the State Board of Education as well as to the National Federation of State High School Associations Coaches Code of EthicsQUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Will have the ability to perform the assigned coaching task and be able to promote a positive athletic environment for both students and parents. Prior coaching experience of a high school dance team. Knowledge and experience of dancing, strong communication and organization skills required. Ability to plan and implement a program of developmental activities and competitive performances for a high school dance team program. Ability to clearly express needs and ideals, obtain the commitment of others, and anticipate and lead the critical details necessary for a successful program. Ability and willingness to communicate and work with principals and other school activity sponsors. Ability to involve and communicate with parents and participants.WORK ENVIRONMENT
