Job Description
North Park University, a proud member of the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin, would like to announce that applications are now being accepted for the position of Head Golf Coach. This twelve-month, full-time position directs all aspects of an intercollegiate golf program including recruitment, retention, coaching, scheduling, team travel, fundraising, and budgeting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily operations of the golf program at North Park University.
- Analyze performance and instruct athletes in golf techniques and strategies in preparation for and during athletics competition.
- Execute game and practice planning/evaluation, including video exchange and breakdown.
- Provide on-site coaching in tournaments and practices, including organization and implementation of training schedules for all team members.
- Manage all phases of competitive NCAA and CCIW compliant recruiting.
- Ensure a commitment to the academic success of golf student-athletes, including monitoring academic performance, attendance, and social behavior.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
- Participate in fundraising and development events and be visible in the campus community.
- Hire, supervise, develop, and evaluate part-time, volunteer, or graduate assistant coaches.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Assistant Vice President for Athletics and Sport Management, and Associate and Assistant Athletic Directors.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree is required.
- Coaching experience or playing experience and knowledge of the sport of golf at the intercollegiate level are required.
- Applicants must be able to work an untraditional work schedule (i.e. frequent nights and weekends).
- Able to lift and move athletic equipment.
- Able to travel with team, by vehicle or plane.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park's mission of Christian higher education.
