Job Description
The Health Compliance Coordinator position reports to the Front Desk Admissions Director. This person will assist with the creation and implementation of medication policies under the direction of the Founders, Deans, and Front Desk Director. This position will work closely with the Student Health Coordinator and the Safety Response Team. This position is responsible for reviewing student health procedures and supplies to ensure appropriate safety and compliance with best practice standards. Part-Time (10 month position at 5-10 hours per week) Key Responsibilities The statements below are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job. They are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties and skills required of personnel. Assist with Implementation of Health/Medication Policy Review Health/Medication treatment form to ensure all necessary information is collected Review / Update as needed Review data in FACTS to ensure proper notations are made Health department Work with Records department as needed to ensure Kindergarten & 7th grade Health Department Compliance (complete & submit by Oct 1) Be on site for Health Dept. Scoliosis check/screening if applicable Create and maintain staff emergency contact list Allergies Emergency response plan Emergency medicine Review and update procedures for preparing and labeling emergency bags Assist with creating emergency response plan under the direction of the headmaster and in collaboration with the Student Health Coordinator and Safety Team Medication Review procedure for managing and logging daily administration of medication Review procedures for organizing / labeling medications kept at school for students Ensure proper forms are on file Medical alerts Review weekly with Student Health Coordinator to ensure up to date in FACTS Update as needed Expired medications Review Medications Monthly Provide list of updates needed to Student Health Coordinator Illness assessment/Injury Treatment Ensure procedures are in compliant with school health care best practices. Review monthly Injury/Illness Reporting Ensure procedures are compliant with school health care best practices. Review reporting for injuries such as: Head/Eyes, Swelling, Puncture, Broken bone Inventory/Upkeep of meds and medical supplies Review necessary supplies with Student Health Coordinator monthly. Review compliance with over-the-counter supplies such as Band-Aids/gauze/medical tape, Topical meds, Cough drops, thermometers, Tylenol, Ibuprofen etc. Staff training Be on site and assist with setting up training for Epi pens CPR/Choking/First Aid Emergency response End of year: Assist Student Health Coordinator to contact all parents for medication pick-up Field trips: Assist Student Health Coordinator to confirm with teachers if any students attending have a Medical Alert, they are reminded/aware/have meds, etc. First aid bags for Teacher Aides Review supplies with Student Health Coordinator Annually Ensure Student Health Coordinator has a current printed emergency contact list Update through FACTS Monthly/Quarterly/As Needed Review student emergency plans into FACTS Required Skills Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the position and the mission of TCA by supporting TCA's values Strong verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Demonstration of TCA's virtues and habits Ambition and desire to grow as a professional Acceptance of honest feedback and coaching for professional growth Ability to work effectively as part of a team, achieving common goals Is agreeable, tactful and cooperative with staff, students and parents Ability to positively demonstrate compassion, empathy and respect for others Possesses strong time management & organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively and complete work with little supervision within agreed timeline Be at work consistently, to be on time, to follow instructions, to respond to management direction and to solicit feedback to improve performance Looks for ways to improve and promote quality Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Ability to maintain confidential files and information Minimum Qualifications Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) or higher license in the United States. Certification or experience in Pediatric Nursing or School Nursing. Completion of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent degree. Flexibility to collaborate with multiple departments Familiarity with working in an educational establishment Superb organizational, self-management, and problem-solving skills A desire for feedback and an openness to engage in a process of self-improvement Alignment with the educational philosophy and core beliefs of TCA Successful results of criminal and employment background check
