Job Description

Flexible Staffing is hiring Health, Safety, and Environment Coordinator in Fabens, TX! Responsible for employee safety, workers' compensation support, safety training, compliance, and transporting injured employees. Requires 2-5 years of experience, CPR/First Aid certification, and a valid driver's license. Transport injured employees for medical treatment, and communicate claim-related activities. Assist in safety training, data entry, ordering of safety and clerical supplies, and other office-related duties.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Transport in company car injured employees to and from medical treatment. 2. Create, update, maintain, organize, and retain pertinent records and files. 3. Prepare agendas, materials related thereto and see that all legal requirements are met. 4. Assist in safety trainings. 5. Performs other such duties as assigned. 6. Evaluates hazards within the facility for safety, health, and environmental risks. 7. Develops health and safety procedures and programs for all departments and monitors safety compliance to reduce risks. 8. Maintains contingency plans, including fire prevention, and procedures for controlling hazardous spills in accordance with government regulation and insurance company requirements. 9. Supervises maintenance of material safety data sheets so they are accessible at all times according to regulations. 10. Develops inspection policies and establish regular inspection schedules to comply with safety and environmental laws. 11. Supervises/Develops training sessions for emergency preparedness, confined spaces, electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, and forklift safety 12. Maintains EPA records of hazardous waste, air emission permitting, and water pollution discharge, as well as industrial health monitoring and records of employee hazard exposure according to OSHA regulations. 13. Monitors professional literature and attends seminars to stay current with governmental compliance requirements. 14. Supervises Workers Compensation Analyst and seasonal first aid attendants, and Security. 15. Responsible for Government report for BLS, OSHA and Title V. 16. Represent employer on regulatory inspections.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
1. Thorough knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and the use of office machines and equipment. 2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, subordinates, the media, representatives from all levels of government, civic organizations, business professionals, and the general public. 3. Ability to project a positive, concerned image to the public. 4. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. 5. Sufficient skill in typing to complete 40 wpm accurately and the ability to take sufficient notes at a meeting to prepare an accurate record of events.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
1. With 2-5 years in ensuring safe and healthy working conditions for employees, developing, enforcing, and monitoring guidelines and policies to reduce the risk of accidents, injuries, and health-related issues in the workplace, identifying potential safety risks, and recommending solutions to mitigate hazards 2. At least two of the five years must have been working, and should include some supervisory experience. 3. Any equivalent combination of training and experience. 4. $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
