Position Overview Join us in the summer of 2026 and help us continue the legacy of fostering creativity, nurturing talent, and celebrating the individual artistic journey at Interlochen. We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented Health Services Assistants who embody our core values and are committed to nurturing young artists. As a Health Services Assistant, you'll play a major role in assisting our Health Services team serve our campers, while fully immersing yourself in the unique environment that only a summer camp can offer. Health Services Assistants work 7 weeks, plus pre-camp training for 2-3 days before the opening of the summer season. The workweek is 40 hours with 8-hour days scheduled to work in the clinics. What You Get To Do Work in one of three Health Centers with a team consisting of a Physician or Nurse Practitioner, Nurses, other Health Services Assistants, and a secretary. Be delegated tasks by the Camp Nurse, including taking vital signs, dressing changes, transporting students to or from a Health Care Center if needed, changing beds, obtaining meals for any Campers required to stay in Health Services, changing linen of overnight campers, and other duties as required for the population. Be available as needed and during regularly scheduled hours during the camper day and at designated times in the health center. Be an integral part of camp life and participate in camp activities as the schedule allows, and enjoy the lovely setting at Interlochen.
What You Get Compensation:
Residential Interns (those living more than 40 miles from campus): $15.00/hour, including meals and on-campus lodging at a rate of $15.00/night Local Interns (those living within 40 miles of campus): $17.00/hour. On-campus lodging not included. Meals and on-campus lodging.Referral Bonus Eligible:

If you refer someone to this position who works full-time and completes their contract in good standing, you will receive a $500 bonus. 10% tuition discount for the Discovery Camp or 50% Interlochen Arts Camp for dependents. 20% discount for tickets to most summer concerts. 15% discount on merchandise from Scholarshop and food/beverages from Melody Freeze. Experience and Skills What You Need Availability 6/15/2026 - 8/10/2026 Prepared to live in a residence hall with a roommate. While we offer accessible housing accommodations, please note that due to the rustic nature of our camp, these options are limited. 18 years of age and a high school diploma are required. Work or school experience in a related medical field preferred. Students with some clinical experience in a health profession school, such as nursing or medicine, are encouraged to apply. Ability to work occasional overnight shifts. Flexibility and the ability to work in a team are essential. Basic computer skills and the ability to use e-mail are required.
