Mobile Dental Anesthesia Team Location:
New Jersey (Travel within approximately a 1-hour radius)
Employment Type:
Part-Time / Per Diem Guaranteed minimum of 4 hours per scheduled shift Competitive pay No nights No weekends No holidays Cases are scheduled in advance, typically 1-4 weeks prior. Team members usually arrive at dental offices between 7:00 AM•10:00 AM, with workdays averaging approximately 2-8 hours depending on the procedure schedule.

Job Description:
We are seeking experienced, professional, compassionate, and team-oriented Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to join our mobile anesthesia team. The ideal candidate will assist the physician anesthesiologist with equipment preparation, patient monitoring, recovery care, documentation, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist the physician anesthesiologist with all aspects of patient care on the day of the procedure. Assist with anesthesia equipment and supply setup before procedures and breakdown/cleaning after completion. Provide attentive patient care through monitoring, assessment, intervention, and ongoing reassessment under the direction and supervision of the physician anesthesiologist. Monitor and document patient status, including: Vital signs Respiratory status Heart rate Oxygen saturation Blood pressure Temperature Level of consciousness Overall recovery condition Document vital signs, patient status, and any significant events during the recovery period. Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate promptly with the anesthesiologist. Understand the location, availability, and proper use of procedure room and recovery equipment. Assist with airway support, IV preparation/assistance, patient positioning, patient comfort, and family support as directed by the anesthesiologist. Provide reassurance and education to parents/guardians regarding what to expect after anesthesia. Review post-anesthesia discharge instructions with parents/guardians and communicate any concerns to the anesthesiologist before discharge. Confirm patients meet discharge criteria prior to leaving the facility and complete required documentation. Assist patients and families during discharge, including helping patients safely into vehicles, car seats, or strollers when needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and properly sanitized procedure and recovery environment. Maintain frequent communication and teamwork with the anesthesiologist, dental team, patients, and families. Maintain current required certifications and notify NYMA of any certification changes. Conduct yourself professionally, arrive on time, dress appropriately, demonstrate teamwork, and maintain a willingness to learn.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited EMT or Paramedic program Current New Jersey EMT or Paramedic certification/license Current CPR/BLS certification Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Preferred:
ACLS certification PALS certification Pediatric experience Emergency, critical care, anesthesia, or procedural experience
Preferred Candidate:
10+ years of full-time EMS experience preferred (Highly qualified candidates with less experience may also be considered) Comfortable working independently in a mobile healthcare environment Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach with pediatric patients and families
