Job Description

About the Role The Anesthesia Technician supports safe, efficient anesthesia care during routine and complex surgical procedures. You will work alongside Anesthesiologists and the surgical care team in the OR and other areas where anesthesia is provided. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical skill, and a commitment to excellent patient care. What You'll Do Assist the anesthesia team during procedures and patient transport. Maintain and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment, monitors, gas systems, and supplies. Prepare setups for invasive monitoring, nerve blocks, and specialty procedures. Clean, check, restock, and calibrate anesthesia machines, carts, and monitoring equipment. Respond quickly and calmly in emergencies and trauma situations. Document care accurately and support smooth shift‑to‑shift communication. Assist the Perfusionist during cardiac surgery with supplies, documentation, and lab testing. Provide age‑appropriate, compassionate care and uphold patient safety standards. Participate in ongoing education, training, and teamwork initiatives. Education & Requirements Graduate of a NYS‑registered Practical Nursing Program. Current NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or limited permit. BLS required within 90 days of hire. ACLS required within 1 year of hire. Prior clinical or LPN experience preferred. Physical Demands Frequent standing, walking, reaching, lifting, and moving equipment. Ability to assist with patient positioning and transport. Normal hearing, vision, and bilateral hand/arm dexterity required.
