Job Title:
Clinical Therapist, Full-time (40 hours) (accepting applications for both Registered Interns and fully Licensed LCSW, LMFT, LHMC, and LPC candidates)Reports To:
Clinical Supervisor Position Description:
Provides individual, family, and/or group trauma-focused therapy to child (18 years and under) victims of sexual abuse, physical abuse, neglect, problematic sexual behaviors, and/or other traumatic events. Includes non-offending caregivers in treatment. Participates in case consultations, supervision, and Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings. Provides treatment status and open communication with referral sources. Has knowledge of evidence based trauma treatment modalities. Provides testimony in court proceedings when appropriate. Is available for on-call crisis schedule. Engages in supervision for licensure with the clinical supervisor and/or approved supervisor. Therapist receive at least 40 hours of training per year to include training in evidence-based modalities.Specific Duties:
Provides direct, trauma-focused treatment to child victims and their non-offending caregiver(s) to include completion of comprehensive evaluations, assessments, treatment planning, effective treatment implementation, case consultation, treatment reviews, and discharge planning Tracks and updates client caseload to reflect active, inactive, and discharged clients and provides supervisor with a monthly statistic update Maintains clinical charts in accordance with policies and procedures to include timeliness in completion and level of expertise and accuracy in content Submits required reports, statistics, billing, and caseload information in a timely manner Utilizes computer efficiency to work with electronic health records, web-based programs, and Microsoft Office Engages with the clinical team to assist with crisis situations and peer consultation Conducts crisis assessments and responds appropriately to client crisis needs Actively participates in reflective, clinical and administrative supervision with the clinical supervisor and clinical team at a frequency to be determined by the supervisor Participates in the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) process as needed to promote the best interests for clients and to provide trauma-informed insight to team members Actively participates in ECCAC department/team meetings and case consultations Testifies in court as a witness in dependency and/or criminal court cases Has a minimum of 20 hours of training prior to unsupervised contact with a client Completes 40 hours of training yearly to include a focus on simple and complex trauma Maintains a therapeutic office and play room environment Travels between DeFuniak and Niceville Centers for certain meetings and assigned job duties Follows ECCAC policies and procedures Performs other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications:
Valid Florida license as a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern, Registered Clinical Social Work Intern or Licensed LCSW, LMFT, LHMC, and LPC LCSW, LMFT, LHMC, and LPC. Master's Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related human services field from an accredited university Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in the field of Counseling and Psychology Must do licensure supervision with approved Qualified Supervisor who agrees with an off-site supervision contract Must be able to provide individualized, trauma-focused treatment that is evidence based Must be able to work cohesively in a team environment Must be able to efficiently use a computer Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and online electronic health records Must pass a background check Must maintain current liability insurance Competent knowledge and understanding of the issues surrounding trauma including but not limited to child sexual abuse and child maltreatment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to organize and maintain accurate records Ability to empathize and communicate clearly with all types of people Commitment to the need for client and agency confidentiality Must be able to problem-solve and manage time appropriatelyPreferred Qualifications:
Trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy Previous experience providing individual and group counseling to victims of abuse Previous experience with creative interventions like play therapy, sand tray work, music therapy, art therapy, or Animal Assisted Interactions Previous experience working with children with problematic sexual behaviors Trained inEMDR Education:
Minimum Master's (Required)License:
Registered with the state of Florida as an intern working towards appropriate licensure (Required) or Licensed LCSW, LMFT, LHMC, and LPC.
