An Art Therapist directs and coordinates recreational activities for people with disabilities or illness to help them improve their emotional and physical well-being, improve motor skills and increase confidence. Leads activities involving art, crafts, and similar activities. Assists patients with disabilities to learn to use public resources such as parks and public transportation, and integrate in the community. Works with people of all ages, in schools, nursing homes, clinics and other healthcare facilities, or in parks and recreation departments.

Job Description

Position title:
Full Time Program Therapist and Part Time Program Therapist Department:
Comprehensive Day Treatment Program Reports to:
Program Manager Qualifications:
Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, or related field 2 years or more of direct therapy experience Experience and training providing family therapy Florida Protective Services background check approval Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written skills Position summary of duties and responsibilities: Primarily ON-SITE position Monday-Friday from 7:30-4:00. Provides individual, group, and family therapy to children and their families in a comprehensive day treatment program setting for youth ages 5-14. Completes bio-psychosocial assessments on incoming clients. Provides crisis intervention with clients and works with community providers to collaborate on needed services.
Salary Range:
Licensed therapist: $55,000-$60,000 depending on experience. Non-licensed therapist (registered intern): $45,000-$55,000 depending on experience.
