  • (26003581) The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified clinician to join the University Counseling Center (UCC) as Staff Clinician
  • Embedded Services for the Offices of Inclusion and Belonging (OIB) and International Services (OIS).
The UCC is a department within the Division of Student Affairs and aligned under the Wellness Team consisting of Campus Recreation, Student Health Services, Financial Wellness, and Care and Resource Support departments. Accredited by the International Accreditation of Counseling Services (IACS) and American Psychological Association (APA), the UCC exists to ensure healthy and thriving lives for University of Pittsburgh's diverse student population by providing crisis intervention, outreach, workshops, group, individual, relationship/couples therapy, and specialized treatment teams to assist with disordered eating, gender affirmation, substance use, trauma, culturally responsive care, transition care, and dialectical behavior therapy. The Staff Clinician, Embedded Services will provide direct and indirect services to students served by OIB and OIS including but not limited to, individual, relationship, and group psychotherapy, clinical consultation, outreach programming, and participate in supervision and training, as selected or assigned. The Staff Clinician will have the opportunity to serve on committees within and outside of the UCC. Job Summary Provides individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and drug and alcohol assessments; creates assessments and therapeutic courses of action. Creates and facilitates student psycho-educational, prevention, and support groups as well as student success programming. Instructs undergraduate classes; administers campus-wide initiatives. Assists to train interns and staff. Essential Functions
  • Provide individual counseling to students served by the Offices of Inclusion and Belonging (OIB) and International Services (OIS).
  • Provide culturally responsive individual and group counseling based on program need.
  • Provide crisis support.
  • Provide care coordination to students requiring on
  • and off-campus resources and referrals.
  • Provide outreach services including Ask a Therapist, Wellness Workshops, and Peer Support Spaces.
  • Coordinate with faculty, staff, and students to develop innovating outreach programming to target specific student and program needs.
Physical Effort This is sedentary position which involves light physical activity and sitting at a desk in an office.
