  • $80,000 Annually Length of Work Year 12 Months Employment Type Full Time Job Summary Job Summary The Head Athletic Trainer oversees the comprehensive sports medicine program for Village Christian School, providing injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services to student-athletes.
This role manages daily athletic training operations, coordinates medical care with physicians and allied health professionals, and ensures compliance with health and safety standards. The Head Athletic Trainer supports student-athlete wellness while modeling Christian leadership and contributing to the overall mission of the school. Essential Responsibilities Sports Medicine & Athlete Care
  • Provide injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services
  • Attend scheduled practices, home and away competitions, and school events
  • Coordinate and implement return-to-play and return-to-learn protocols
  • Communicate athlete progress with physicians, coaches, strength staff, and school personnel
  • Maintain accurate medical records and complete accident reports Program & Staff Coordination
  • Coordinate athletic training coverage for athletic events
  • Coordinate team physician coverage for home football games
  • Organize and oversee annual on-campus sports physicals
  • Supervise and mentor high school athletic training student assistants
  • Teach and manage the after-school Athletic Training class, including grading and organizing yearly class events Compliance & Administration
  • Maintain OSHA compliance regarding bloodborne pathogens
  • Order and manage medical supplies and clinical equipment
  • Ensure yearly equipment calibration and upkeep
  • Maintain coaches' certification records
  • Perform additional duties as assigned Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Master's preferred)
  • Board of Certification (BOC) Certified Athletic Trainer
  • In good standing with NATABOC
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certification
  • High school athletic training experience preferred
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation ski Requirements / Qualifications Applicants must hold current BOC certification and maintain good standing with NATABOC.
CPR/AED and First Aid certification are required. Candidates must possess appropriate licensure as required by California law. Applicants must submit a completed employment application, cover letter, and current resume detailing relevant athletic training experience. Upon hire, candidates will be required to complete Live Scan fingerprinting, background screening, TB clearance, and provide verification of eligibility to work in the United States (I-9 documentation). Additional documentation, including acknowledgment of the school's Statement of Faith, will be required in accordance with school policy.
